Cynthia Ann Newberry

Cynthia Ann (Cindy) Newberry, 76, of New Boston, Ohio, died Saturday, June 14, 2025, at her home in New Boston. Cindy was born on October 7, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Thomas Homer Newberry and Jean Reynolds Newberry. She was a graduate of Glenwood High School in New Boston and Anderson College in Anderson, Indiana, and retired from the Scioto County Board of DD, as a social worker. She was a lifelong supporter of animal causes, and her kindness touched the lives of all her many friends, clients, and co-workers.

She is survived by her two sisters, Susan Montavon and Jane Young (Joe), both of Portsmouth, and three nephews, Matt Montavon (Jen), Josiah Young (Elizabeth), and Jacob Young (Carissa). She is also survived by her 10 much loved, and talented, Great-Grands, Matt's Emerson and Carter Montavon, Josiah's "Young-Sters" Emmett, Isaac, Scarlett, and Meredith, and Jacob's "Young-Sters" Cecilia, James, Augustine, and Maris. She also leaves several precious childhood friends to mourn her loss. There are no public services planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your own favorite animal shelter or to Cindy's favorite, the Primate Rescue Center, Nicholasville, Kentucky (primaterescue.org).
