Goldie Sowkulech, 92, of New Boston died Wed. April 28, 2010 at home. She was born Nov. 20, 1917 in Beauty, KY., a daughter of the late Ance and Effie Blair Chaffins. She was a homemaker and member of the United Baptist Church in Lenore, W.VA. Goldie is survived bya daughter, Gayla Born of New Boston; two sisters, Edith Manns of Lenore, W.VA. and Nanny Pruitt of Belfry, KY.; two grandchildren, John W. Born of New Boston and Angel (Tom) Born of Sciotoville; 3 great grandchildren, Richard Bolda, Christina Bolda and Tiffany Moran and 2 great great great grandchildren, Ricky Bolda and Christopher Bolda. She was also preceded in death by her husband, JohnSowkulech; 3 brothers, Arthur, Robert and James Chaffins and 2 sisters, Janice Chaffins and Rebecca Judes. The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Malaya, Dr. J. McGinnis, S.O.M.C. Hospice and Debbie Landes. Services will be 1 PM Sat., May 1, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday 6 to 8 PM and Saturday 12 Noon to 1 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston. Online condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
