Jerry Lee Mullins, 83, Beloved Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jerry Lee Mullins, age 83 of Eden Park. Jerry departed this life peacefully on September 9, 2025 at 3:20pm at Southern Ohio Medical Center after an illness. Born on September 17, 1941, in Portsmouth, Ohio. Jerry was a man of quiet strength, unwavering integrity, and deep love a devotion for his family. He spent his life working hard for his family whether it was during his back breaking time at Harbinson –Walker brickyard or the other various jobs he had delivering furnture, working with his father insulating houses or delivering papers. Jerry was a proud father and grandfather (Pepop), roles he cherished above all others. His grandchildren were the light of his life. Whether it was going to softball, volleyball, or cheer games he was there cheering from the sidelines when he was able. He was so proud of his grandson and cherished being able to watch him graduate from his alma mater Clay high school (Class of 1960). He taught his kids the value of hard work and the importance of kindness along with various stories of his life drag racing, playing sports or multitude of jokes and wise cracks. He loved telling stories of his Chevelle and antics of racing and his crazy youth. Jerry is survived by his daughter Amy and her husband Ryland France and his son Matthew Scott Mullins and his partner Misty Sullivan, three grandchildren Ethan, Addison and Avery France along with Carla (Howell) Mullins whom he married in June 19, 1970. A brother Gary Mullins and his partner Susanna Candelaria and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will carry a place in their hearts for Jerry. He is proceded in death by parents Albert (Sug) and Hazel Mullins, Two sisters Joyce Horner and Geraldine Mullins, a brother Terry Mullins all of Portsmouth. A brother in law Jack Horner and Sister-in-law Kathy Mullins. The family would like to thank Providers Angel Ali CNP, Amy Spencer, CNP, Dr. Muscarella, Dr. Nagrani for all of their care even at his most stubborn times. The SOMC healthcare workers, Doctors, Providers, Nurses, Respiratory Therapists in ER, ICU, SVCU and Rehab. He did not like being there but everyone’s kindness and joking with him made it tolerable. A celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at SWICK BENTLEY FUNERAL HOME in New Boston on Saturday, September 13, 2025 with visitation beginning at 11 am  service following at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his honor to Cabin Critters or Sierra’s Haven to support the animals that he loved and where he found his best buddy (at Cabin Critters) a little chihuahua named “little Sug”. Though he has left this world, Jerry’s legacy of the love of his family and grandchildren along with his continuous jokes, laughter and stories will continue on in those who knew him.
