Jim R. Hill, 77, of New Boston, passed away at home on February 20, 2026. He was born on August 25, 1948, in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was a graduate of Clay High School, Jim always had a nickname for everyone he met. He loved hunting, visiting flea markets, and his toys. Most importantly, Jim was happiest spending time with his grandchildren, creating memories that will be cherished for generations to come.
Jim leaves behind his beloved wife, Barb Hill, who was not only his love but also his best friend; whom he married on November 2, 1968. He is survived by his sister, Connie Buckler; two daughters, Jamie Ewing and Barbie Hill; nine grandchildren: Mark Salisbury, Derek Hoover, Hayley Durham (Zachery), Michael Salisbury, Christopher Ward (Katie), Shelton Raike (Lakyn Steele), Logan Hoover (Kayla Davis), Magan Hoover, and Madison Salisbury (Bryson Brumfield). In addition to his grandchildren, Jim is also survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren: Bryson, Blake, Collin, Dylan, Olivia, Sophia, Karson, Sabation, Raiden, Lovelynn, Lilliana, Ryker, Kensley, Riley, Ridge, Kenna, Ezekiel, Tatum, Zalen, Jasper, Clayton, and Luka.
Jim was preceded in death: his parents, William Williams and Mary Hill; his sister, Brenda Dempsey; and his two daughters, Angie Salisbury and Shelly Hill.
Visitation will be held at SWICK BENTLEY FUNERAL HOME in New Boston on Tuesday February 24, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Wednesday from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 2:00 PM with Pastor Brian Holbrook officiating. Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery.
