Lisa Lynette Kurtz

Age 70 of West Portsmouth, Ohio, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2026 at her home surrounded by the love of her family and friends.  Born March 17, 1956 in West Virginia to Darlene and Bob Lykins.  She lived a life filled with kindness, creativity, love and the love to help others.  She was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, mamaw and friend.  She always wore her heart on her sleeve and she lived for her husband who truly was the love of her life and truly her soul mate.  Also she loved her children and grandchildren.  

She is survived by her loving husband Paul G. Kurtz (married July 27, 1991), children; Kelly (Johnny) Wellton, Katie Carver, Johnny Kurtz, Shawn Luther-Kurtz, Shelly (Carl) Lewis, Patrick Turner, (Justine, Eric) and Tiffany Kurtz. Grandkids Aubrianna Kurtz, Gregory Kurtz, Dalton Lewis, Isaas Jones, and Grant Jones. She is  also survived by her sister-in-law Kathy Kurtz and several nieces and nephews Kelly Hall, JP Tackett and other family members. She is also survived by her cousin David (Trevia) Wiseman, Arriel Wiseman and Chris Wiseman. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Darlene Lykins and Bob Lykins, mother and father-in-law; Eleanor and Paul Kurtz and a son Jimmy (James) Cook, brother-in-law Barry ( Lola) Kurtz . Also preceded in death was her brother Duane (Tammy) Lykins.

She was a joy to be around and lit up any and every room she walked into. She was loved and respected by everyone and people that only knew her by name knew she was a joy to be around and would go to the moon and back for the ones she loved. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday April 21, 2026 at 11:00 AM at SWICK BENTLEY FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. Interment will follow at Scioto Burial Park in McDermott, Ohio.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM prior to the service.
