Pamela Madden

August 24, 1954 – March 30, 2026

Pamela Madden, age 71, of New Boston, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 30, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 24, 1954, to the late Jiggs and Kat Porter of New Boston, Pam was a woman of warmth, laughter, and love — she never met a stranger and always had a joke ready. She was a woman who sparkled and shined, touching everyone she met. She was truly one of a kind in all the best ways.

Pam was united in marriage to Big Hearted Randy Madden on June 8, 1973. Together they built a beautiful family and shared many wonderful memories going to the beach, dirt track races, and family cookouts. Randy preceded her in death on November 19, 2002. In the years that followed, Pam found a devoted and loving companion in Marvin Rawlins. The two shared 20 wonderful years together, enjoying quiet drives through the countryside watching wildlife, fishing and boating, and exploring new places on their many travels.

For many years, Pam served as the Nutrition Manager for New Boston Schools — a role she didn’t take lightly. She cared deeply about every child who came through that lunch line, believing with her whole heart that no child should go without a good meal. She was a New Boston Tiger, through and through, and she had so much pride in the work she did.

She treasured girls’ trips with her friends, the thrill of discovering a great new restaurant, sunny days on the beach, and the simple joy of being surrounded by people she loved. She was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2271 and served as the President of the Ladies' Auxiliary for some time.

Pam is loved and remembered by her daughters, Becky Darby and Mindy (Derek) Ratcliff; her beloved grandchildren, Jake Darby, Jessica Darby, Stella Ratcliff, and Oliver Ratcliff; two great-grandchildren, Reighna and Kaidyn Campa; her partner of 20 years, Marvin Rawlins; her siblings, Barry (Jan) Porter, Philip Porter, Angie Hamilton, Veronica Porter, Chris (Brandi) Porter, Katie (Casey) Martin, Tim Porter, and Heather (Danny) Eggers. She has many adored nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jiggs and Kat Porter, her husband, Randy Madden, her brother and best buddy Kenny Porter, her brother-in-law Randy Hamilton, and her beloved nephew Ethan Porter.

Services will be held at Swick Bentley Funeral Home in New Boston, Ohio on Friday, April 10th. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM, followed by a service at 7:00 PM led by Rev. Nikki Hogarth.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Stephen A. Hunter Hope Fund in support of the Power Packs program — a cause that was very close to Pam’s heart. She was always the first person there to help someone, and there's no better way to honor her memory than by donating.
