Patrick Christian “Chris” Brown, 55, of Portsmouth passed away on October 26, 2026 at his home. He was born in Portsmouth on September 3, 1971 to Tommy Brown and the late Arabella “Jean” (Crisp) Eldridge. Chris loved the outdoors and was an Ohio State fan. Chris was very creative and enjoyed cross stitching, coloring and doing crossword puzzles. He was a jack of all trades with a unique sense of humor.

In addition to his father Chris is survived by a son, Tyler Brown; two stepsons, Travis Munion and Troy Munion; two daughters, Samantha Austin and husband Josh and Cheyenne Brown; brothers, John Brown, Mike Eldridge, Michael Gilliam, Jeremy Gilliam, Byron “Eli” Brown, and Jason Brown; sisters, Angie Ledford, Jennifer Eldridge, Heather Koler, and Sarah Eldridge; grandchildren, Shaley, Cade, Emery, Hadley, Brennan, Sadie and AnnaBella. In addition to his mother he is preceded in death his wife, Annette Brown who passed away on February 10, 2021; a stepfather, John Eldridge; brother, John “Bo” Eldridge; and sister, Angel Gilliam.

A funeral service will be held, Friday, October 30, 2026 at Swick Bentley Funeral Home in New Boston. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Garden in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
